Answer:
Central idea :- In this poem the poet assumes himself a scholar. He passes most of his time in reading the books of great authors who are now dead. He feels as if he were enjoying their company. He regards them as his best friends. He loves their virtues and condemns their vices. He learns a lot from them. He hopes that people will read his books also like the books of these authors and will remember him till eternity. Thus he will become immortal
