The village song By "Saroini Naidu" is a beautiful poem which speaks about the traditional Indian villages.

In the poem, the poet describes the difficulties faced by a Indian village women. Though the poem was written in 90s, the condition still exists in many Indian villages.

The poet has beautifully brought out, the feelings and fear of the women, when she goes alone to fetch water for her home. She has to go walk long distance in the dark and carry heavy pitches. The poor girl is burdened by the fear of the encountering many dangers like snakes, storm or a ghost. She finally prays to God in despair, to reach her home soon and meet her family
