Cereal plants were growing in a field. The field was then flooded with sea water. Suggest why the sea water causes the plants to die.

Basically high salinity dehydrates the plants and they can no longer transpire. ... Because sea water contains more salt than plant cells. And when cells are exposed to water with more salt that the water in the cell contains, osmosis drains water from the cell to try and equalize the concentrations
