The cerebellum is often called 'the little brain' because it shares many similarities with the cerebrum, the main portion of the brain.

The small brains, also known as the cerebellum, is located at the backside of the brain and is mainly involved in fine tuning and co-ordination of movements.

The cerebellum (“little brain”) is a structure that is located at the back of the brain, underlying the occipital and temporal lobes of the cerebral cortex The cerebellum is important for making postural adjustments in order to maintain balance.

It is located below the cerebrum and above medulla oblongata. It consists of two larger cerebellar hemispheres.
