1. Solar system:
It consists of the sun and eight planets (mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus and neptune) with their satellites i.e. moon. It also consists of other small heavenly bodies such as comets, asteroids and meteors.

2. Pahses of moon:
Moon is considered as the only satellite of the earth with no atmosphere, no sound. It takes 27 days, 7 hrs, and 43 minutes to rotate on its axis. Whereas 59% out of the toal surface of the moon is visible from the earth.
The moon changes its shape over a period and it repeats again and again. These different shapes of the moon are known as Phases of the Moon. Like:
New moon, full moon, cresent moon, gibbous moon, first/third quarter, first quarter, third quarter.

Sun is considered as the centre of the solar system while all the bodies revolve around it in elliptical orbit. Motion of the all the bodies of the solar system is governed by the gravitational force of sun. Mercury is the nearest planet to the sun whereas neptune is the farthest planet from the sun.
It's size is thirteen lakh times as that of the eart size and is 150 million km away from earth. Main gases that are present on it are hydrogen and helium.
