Answer:

  1. Disaster Preparedness is very important while carrying out disaster management.
  2. It involves measures taken to prepare for and reduce the effect of disasters. Thus, carrying out awareness campaigns, strengthening the weak structures, preparing plans for household and community level, etc. is very important.
  3. For eg. a person living in a building should know how to escape in such a scenario. For this, people have to be trained before.
  4. People living in flood prone area should be prepared with food items, medicine, water, etc.
  5. We, students aren't equipped with higher level equipments. What we can do is creating awareness, carrying out regular mock drills.
  6. As India is a young country, we have a majority of population of age 20-30. With this, it becomes our big responsibility to create awareness for people of all age. As we have a bigger influence on social media, we can create awareness through such mediums.
  7. We can also train people living with us or working with us with some idea of how to be prepared for such situations.
  8. All people should also have capacity to cope up with such situations. Vulnerability is reduced if the capacity to cope up with the disaster is high.
  9. In this way, we can carry out disaster management in our region/premises by being prepated for any disaster.
