In ABC, by Pythagoras
169-144=AB square
AB= 5 cm
Area of triangle ABC,
1/2*b*h
1/2*12*5
= 30 cm square

Now , second part can be solved by using the similarity of triangles

Meenaarchu: I did it directly, so if u can’t understand,let me know
Paul1111: No , I didn't understand.
Meenaarchu: Ok tell me what u don’t understand
Meenaarchu: U know about the Pythagoras theorem
Paul1111: No
Meenaarchu: Then u first know about it from the internet
Paul1111: OK.

ad = ac (altitude )
AD= 6.5
DC=6.5
now consider triangle BDC
BD = root of BC^2-DC^2
BD=144-42.25
BD=101.75
area = 13*101.75
1322.75 cm^2
