CH2=CH2 is the formula for ethene

Since it forms A double bond with Carbon and Both carbons Form Single bond with Hydrogen.

By Following the general formula CnH2n we get Ethene C2H4

Yes. It forms the organic carbon compound ethene.

Ethene belongs to the group of alkenes which have the general formula CnH2n.

If we add the carbons in the compound, we get C2.

Then we add the hydrogens. We get 4.

Hence C2H4 is ethene. It is the second member of the alkene series followed by methene and preceded by Propene.

You can convert ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to ethene by hearing it at 443 K and addition of sulfuric acid.
