Ch2 the lakeisle innisfree for peace comes dropping slow dropping from The Wheels of the morning to where the cricket sings
Answers
W B Yeats uses these lines to express:
- And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to
where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a
purple glow,
And evening full of linnet's wings.
In this Stanza, W B Yeats stats that when he will go to Innisfree, he will have some peace there. In the second line of the Stanza, the word ' veils ' mean a peace of fine material worn by the women for covering head and face of a woman. So over here, the word veil means the fog which is there in the island in morning. The Cricket is a small brown insect that produces a rythmical, chirping sound. So, W B likes the cricket singing. The midnight is a glimmer means that it shines softly. The noon seems like a purple glow in the island. And in the last line the word ' linnet ' is a small, brown and grey bird with a short beak that also sings. So in the evening, it full of linnet's wings that means full of flying linnets (songbirds).
Hope it helps.
Thank you, have a great day.
