The IUPAC name of given compound is 2-methyl-2-propanol.

In any IUPAC name, we need to check the longest chain of carbon atom. Here the longest chain is of three carbon atoms with \bold{-\mathrm{OH} \text { and }-\mathrm{CH}_{3}} group at C-2 position. Since three carbon atoms are there hence the root word will be prop-.

Here all are single covalent bonds so primary suffix will be –ane and secondary suffix will be –ol due to –OH group. The prefix of \bold{\mathrm{CH}_{3}} group will be 2-methyl. Hence the name will be 2-methyl-2-propanol.
