CH3COCl - stands for acetyl chloride

H2- is an hydrogen molecule

Pd stands for palladium

BaSO4 stands for barium sulfate

Therefore the reaction between acetyl chloride and hydrogen molecule is hydrogenolysis and is catalysed by palladium on barium sulfate.

When an acyl chloride is reacted with hydrogen molecule in the presence of barium sulfate and palladium catalysts it forms an aldehyde( R-CHO).

Therefore CH3COCl + H2 in the presence of palladium and barium sulfate the product is CH3CHO which is an aldehyde by the name ethanal.please follow me
