The radius if the safe speed is 28 m/s is 196 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let’s assume that the safe speeds and the radius in both the cases be “v₁” m/s & “v₂” m/s and “r₁” m & “r₂” m respectively.

It is given that,

v₁ = 22 m/s

r₁ = 121 m

v₂ = 28 m/s

r₂ = required to find?

Also given that,

Safe speed “v” m/s is directly proportional to square root of the radius “r” m i.e.,

v ∝ √r

Therefore, we can write the relation between both the cases as,

v₁/√r₁ = v₂/√r₂

⇒ 22/√121 = 28/√r₂ …… [substituting the given values]

⇒ 22/11 = 28/√r₂

⇒ 2 = 28/√r₂

⇒ √r₂ = 28/2 = 14

squaring both sides

⇒ r₂ = [14]²

r₂ = 196 m

Thus, the radius is 196 m if the safe speed is 28 m/s.
