Answer:

2700

because profit rate by calculating is 10%

so 10 %of 15000 is 1500

so 1200+1500 is 2700

Option B : Total amount of overall profit made by the business as Rs. 2700.

Given :

Investment by Chaitanya = Rs. 12,000

Investment by Aditya = Rs. 15,000

Profit earned by Chaitanya = Rs. 1,200

To Find :

The overall profit of the business

Solution :

  • The share of profit or loss in any business is the same as the share of investment
  • If the investment contribution of a person in any business is X%, his profit share will be X% if the company makes a profit and his loss share will also be X% if the company makes a loss.
  • The ratio of Investment and Profit remains the same :

                             I_{1} /I_{2} = P_{1} /P_{2}

Here, we have the investment of Chaitanya : I_{c} = 12000

Investment of Aditya : I_{a} = 15000

Profit of Chaitanya : P_{c} = 1200

Thus, we can find the profit share of Aditya as :

                        I_{c} /I_{a} = P_{c} /P_{a}\\\\12000 /15000 = 1200 /P_{a}\\\\P_{a} = (15000 * 1200)/12000\\\\P_{a} = (15000)/10\\\\P_{a} = Rs. 1500

So, now the total profit of the business can be calculated as :

Total Profit = Profit share of Chaitanya + Profit share of Aditya

                          = Rs. 1200 + Rs. 1500

                          = Rs. 2700

Hence, the total profit made by the business is Rs. 2700.
