1kg=1000gram

1. Calcium(10%)= (10/100)*1000
=100 gram

2.carbon (3%)= (3/100)*1000
=30 gram

3. oxygen (12%)=(12/100)*1000
= 120 gram

Answer:

Amount of each compound in 1kg Chalk:

i) Calcium = 100 grams

ii ) Carbon = 30 grams

iii ) Oxygen = 120 grams

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Chalk contains

10% of calcium ,

3% of oxygen,

12% of oxygen

Now ,

1kg of of chalk contains :

i )Calcium

= 10% of 1kg

= 10% x 1000 grams

/* 1kg = 1000 grams */

= \frac{10}{100}\times 1000 \: grams

/* % = \frac{1}{100} */

= 100\: grams ---(1)

ii )Carbon

=3% of 1kg Chalk

= 3% x 1000 grams

= \frac{3}{100}\times 1000 \: grams

= 30\: grams ---(2)

iii) Oxygen

=12% of 1kg

= 12% x 1000 grams

=\frac{12}{100}\times 1000 \: grams

= 120\: grams ---(3)

Therefore,

Amount of each compound in 1kg Chalk:

i) Calcium = 100 grams

ii ) Carbon = 30 grams

iii ) Oxygen = 120 grams
