Chalk contains 3% of calcium 12% carbon and 10% oxygen. find the amount of each of these substance in grams in 2 kg of chalk.

  • 2 kg of chalk =2000g of chalk
  • % of calcium in chalk = 3%

so, no. of calcium=3%of 2000g

= 3/100×2000g= 60g

  • %of carbon in chalk= 12%

so no. of carbon= 12/100×2000g =240g

  • % of oxygen = 10%

no of oxygen in chalk=10/100×2000=240g
