Challenge for just fully qualified answerers not for others!

• A table top measures 2 m 25 cm by 1 m 50 cm. What is perimeter of the table. Give anser in both units one by one.

• A rectangular piece of land measure 0.7 km by 0.5 km Each side is to be fenced with r rows of wires. What is length of wire needed?

• The lid of rectangular box of sides 40 cm by 10 cm is sealed all round with tape. What is the length of he tape required?

• Show that perimeter of rectangle is 2(l+b) units.

Note!

• I need 100% qualitied answer. Need fully explained answer. It is ok if you miss any one step!

• Questions are more that's why given more points than 5. answer properly.

Answer:

• Length of table = 2m 25cm

Breadth of table = 1m 50cm

Perimeter of table = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( 225 + 150 )

= 2 × 375

= 750 cm

= 7m 50cm

• Length of rectangular land = 700m

Breadth of rectangular land = 500m

Perimeter of rectangular land = 2( l + b )

= 2( 700 + 500)

= 2 × 1200

= 2400m

.°. Length of the wire = 2.4 km or 2400m.

• Length of the rectangular box = 40 cm

Breadth of the rectangular box = 10 cm

Perimeter of rectangular box = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( 40 + 10 )

= 2 × 50

= 100 cm.

.°. Length of tape = 100 cm.

Question

A table top measures 2 m 25 cm by 1 m 50 cm. What is perimeter of the table. Give anser in both units one by one.

Solution

Perimeter of the table-top

 \bf= 2× (Length + Breadth)

 \bf= 2 × (2 m 25 cm + 1 m 50 cm)

 \bf= 2 × (2.25 m + 1.50 m)

 \bf= 2 × (3.75 m)

 \bf= 7.5m

Question

A rectangular piece of land measure 0.7 km by 0.5 km Each side is to be fenced with r rows of wires. What is length of wire needed?

Solution

Total perimeter =2(l+b)

 \bf=2(0.7+0.5)

 \bf=2×1.2=2.4 km

Since 4 rows is fenced at each side,

Total length of the wire needed

 \bf=4×2.4=9.6 km

Question

The lid of rectangular box of sides 40 cm by 10 cm is sealed all round with tape. What is the length of he tape required?

Solution

The length of the tape would be equivalent to the perimeter.

 \bf=2×(L+B)

 \bf=2(40+10)

 \bf=2×(50)

 \bf=100cm

Question

Show that perimeter of rectangle is 2(l+b) units.

Solution

Considered a rectangle ABCD in which AB and DC = L and AD and BC = B

To prove : P of rectangle = 2( L + B )

Proof : In rectangle ABCD we know that the sum of all sides is equal to its perimeter

Perimeter of given figure = L + B + L + B

perimeter of rectangle = 2L + 2B

perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

( Hence prove )
