At the show there were some tricycles (with 3 wheels) and bicycles (with 2 wheels). She counted 25 wheels altogether.
How many bicyles and how many tricycles were there?

let the wheels be X

For Tricycles

3X

For bicycles

2x

wheels altogether are 25

3x+2x=25

5x=25

X=25/5

X=5

For tricycles

3x5

15

we should divide by 3 because tricycles have 3 wheels

15/3

5

For bicycles

2x5

10

we should divide by 2 because bicycles have 2 wheels

10/2

5

Therefore,they are 5 bicycles and 5 tricycles
