Here, U can apply logic.

Since, resistors across series divides the total voltage.

Now, let 5ohm =1u,

then 10ohm=2u and 15ohm=3u

total=1+2+3=6u

Again, let V be the total potential then V across per u is V/6

therefore, across 1st = V/6,

across 2nd = 2V/6,

and across 3rd = 3V/6

But 2V/6=V/3=4( according to the question)

therefore, V=12V

Hence, potential across 5ohm is V/6=12/6=2V
