'Few challenges faced by early humans in 'hunting and gathering activities':

1. The unpredictability of getting food

2. Death due to attacks of animals

3. Tedious process

4. Climatic changes

5. Different seasons hampered hunting activities like in winter food is little bit available.

6. 'Different regions' have different fauna and flora. So 'finding prey' was not that easy.  

It is discovered by the fossil structure and bone structure. It is also done by checking the bone structure and fossils.
