The rule to test if 3 lines can be a triangle:

The sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle must be greater than the length of the third side.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(a) The length are 6cm , 8 cm and 7 cm

6 + 8  = 14 > 7

6 + 7  = 13 > 8

7 + 8 = 15  > 6

Conclusion: This is a triangle

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(b) The lengths are 10 cm, 20 cm and 7 cm

10 + 20 = 30 > 7

20 + 7 = 27 > 10

7 + 10 = 17 < 20 (This fail the check)

Conclusion: This is not a triangle

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(c) The lengths are 15 cm, 12 cm and 8 cm

15 + 12 = 27 > 8

12 + 8 = 20 > 15

8 + 15 = 23 > 12

Conclusion: This is a triangle

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer: Both (a) and (c) are triangles.
