Chaman wants to fence his field, which measures 8 m by 7 m. The cost of fencing is 35 per metre. How much money does he need to fence the entire field?​

To find : Money needed to fence rectangular  field.

Given : length $8 \ m$ and breadth $= 7\ m$

            Cost of fencing is $35$ per meter.

Solution :

• According to question we are given that length and breadth as $8 m$ and $7\ m$ respectively. To find cost of fencing rectangular field we find perimeter of field.  

• To find perimeter we use following formula -

         Perimeter of rectangle  $= 2 ( l + b )$

• Substituting the values we get,

• Perimeter of field  $= 2( 8 + 7 )$

                                      $= 2( 15 ) \\= 30\ m$

• Now , we know , cost of fencing is $35$ per meter.
• Therefore ,

       Total cost needed for fencing field  = perimeter x cost per meter

                                                                   $= 30 \ m \times 35 Rs /m$

                                                                   $= 1050 Rs$

Hence,  total cost of fencing rectangular field is $Rs 1050$.
