Solution!!

The concept of profit and loss has to be used here. The cost price (CP) of mangoes and the loss percentage is given. We have to find the selling price (SP) and the loss in rupees.

Cost Price (CP) = Rs 900

Loss% = 12

We will find the loss in rupees first.

Loss% = (Loss/CP) × 100

12 = (Loss/900) × 100

12 = Loss/9

Loss = 12 × 9

Loss = Rs 108

We know the loss in rupees. Now, we can easily find out the selling price (SP) of the mangoes.

Loss = CP - SP

Rs 108 = Rs 900 - SP

SP = Rs 900 - Rs 108

SP = Rs 792

More information:-

If SP>CP, then it is profit.

If CP>SP, then it is loss.

Profit = SP - CP

Loss = CP - SP

Profit% = (Profit/CP) × 100

Loss% = (Loss/CP) × 100
