  • Champaran is an administrative district in the state of bihar, just 60 kilometers west of Birgunj. The district is bordering the boundary of nepal. Bettiah is its headquarters and has about 18 districts.
  • It has a 60% of literacy and 906 of sex ratio according to 2011 census. Most pf the languages spoken are Hindi, Urdu, Bengali and Kurukh as first language.
  • Champaran being divided into eastern and western parts has a long history of satyagraha which is considered to be a vital event of freedom struggle of the country .
