Cholera is transmitted by contaminated food and water. In villages people often defecate in open, the flies buzz over uncovered excreta and then contaminate the food items. Also this human excreta may run into water bodies and contaminate water. On consumption of this contaminated food and water, people may suffer from cholera. Thus, we can say that due to poor sanitary conditions, chances of spreading cholera are more in villages.
