Chander loved his horses! After all they were his only companions after the death of his parents. They were his only family.However, he needed to earn his livelihood and in the village there were not many ways to do so.If he continued to live in the village , he would not be able to arrange even food for his horses.He had to take a decision. He was confused. He would do anything to stay close to them. One of his well wishers suggested him to sell them to Mr. Patil, a wealthy man in the city only at one condition that he would give him the job of the stable keeper in his house so that he could stay close to them. Chander liked the idea and decided to go to the city to meet Mr.Patil. His horses were so healthy and fit that any one would agree to buy them.So he began the journey the next day.The village was far away burt he had such a nice company. The day passed soon but at night they had to stay in an inn. The keeper refused to let him tie his horses outside the inn.When Chander requested earnestly, he agreed but charged a little extramoney.At night he heard the innkeeper crying loudly and came to know that one of the visitor threatened to kill him and took away all his money. The keeper was crying bitterly.He would lose his job.The keeper told Chander that he was the same person who checked in with him’ at the same time. Chander remembered his face.Chander rushed out, without even thinking for a moment , he climbed his horse and rushed towards the city hoping to catch the thief.He trusted the speed of his horses.He wanted to help the keeper. There was no one to be found.All his effort went in vain.He felt sad as he could not help the innkeeper.There was nothing he could do. With heavy heart,he went to Mr.Patil’s house .The house was easy to find.It was not just a house but a huge bungalow,one he had never seen or even imagined earlier.The idea of living there along with his horses made Chander feel happy.In those circumstances ,it was the best option for them. Mr.Patil looked kind. He liked the horses and seemed quite interested to buy them.He asked Chander to stay for a day or two so that he could ride the horses before taking a decision. He also agreed to give him the job of stable keeper as he could clearly see the love he had in his eyes for his horses.How could such a person be unkind to other horses.Chander was thrilled to see the other horses in the stable.He would love to stay there. Mr. Patil called his house -keeper to show Chander the servant quarter to stay.Chander could not believe what he saw.There he was ! The same face! The man who robbed the poor innkeeper!The servant read his face.As soon as the master went away he warned Chander that if he opened his mouth,he would not get the job. He said that Mr. Patil trusted him and would never believe that he was a thief.Moreover, Chander would miss the chance of living happily with his horses at such a good place. His horses would not find such kind master ever again. Chander was confused……
