Chandu Shah was the diwan of Lahore.
- He was known to be a revenue official and banker at the Mughal court in Lahore.
- He passed several comments when his family priest suggested the alliance of Har Govind( Guru Arjan's son) with his daughter. This infuriated the Sikhs.
- He was also known for torturing Guru Arjan Dev.
- Later again he went against the Sikhs by defaming their holy granth.
