Extra info:----

  • When the subject of the sentence is the doer or actor, the verb is Active.
  • When the subject of the sentence is acted upon, the verb is Passive.
  • In the passive voice, sometimes the object is understood. In changing such sentences into the Active Voice the object has to be mentally supplied and then formed into the subject.
  • The passive voice of verbs with two objects is formed by changing either of the two objects into the subject and retaining the other as the object called the retained object.
  • Double passives should be avoided, because they are liable to give a wrong meaning.
