Change in colour... When in potassium permaganate solution lemon juice is added, the purple colour of potssium permanganate solution disappears. Pls can anyone give the Chemical Equation for this Reaction.

Lemon juice contains citric acid (C₆H₈O₇)
C₆H₈O₇ + KMnO₄ ------> CO₂ + H₂O + MnO₂
note- reaction is not balance, it shows only the compound present in the reaction.
Citric acid turns KMnO₄ from purple to colorless because it is a reducing agent and the KMnO₄ oxidizes itself into colorless (Mn⁺²)
