I was reading a book when I noticed the child standing on the road alone. She was a small girl, around ten yeaf of age, probably. She was wearing a very old dress and her hair was unkempt. She looked so frail as if she had not eaten for a long time.
Her eyes were sunken and her hands were shabby . I noticed that she was begging all the passers by. Some were kind enough to give her a few coins. She collected whatever she got and put it in a small container .
A passer by gave her some food in a parcel. Just as I was thinking she was going to open the packet and eat the food, she ran to a tree a few yards away. I opened the window wide to see what she was doing. To my amazement, there was a little boy seated there, maybe a couple of years younger than her . She sat down next to the boy, opened the food packet and started to feed him while eating a little herself .
