I really am happy about his promotion, but I also feel a little sad on the inside. I cannot help it. He was my friend and was more like a brother to me, but I wanted that promotion so bad. I needed that transfer and the raise. It just crushes me on the inside because both of us worked hard on the same project, and yet he got the prize. I am sure he also feels a little guilty for leaving me behind like this.
