Change into indirect speech
1. He said to Sita, "I have passed the test."
He said to Sita that he had passed the test.
- The above question is in present perfect tense so we have changed it into past perfect tense in indirect speech (''had + third form of the verb'')
2. My friend said to me, "I shall go to Delhi tomorrow."
My friend said to me that he/she would go to Delhi the next day.
- The above question is in the simple future tense.
- ''shall'' is used for first-person ''I''. So in indirect speech when we use third-person we use ''would''.
- The word ''tomorrow'' is changed to ''the next day'' in indirect speech.
