✎ In case of an interrogative sentence, the reporting verb "said/said to" in Direct Speech is changed to "asked" and the conjunction used is "if / whether" in Indirect Speech.

✎ If the statement in Direct Speech is in Present Tense and the reporting verb is in Past form; then the sentence is changed to Simple Past Tense in Indirect Speech.
