Indirect/Reported Speech refers to speech being said to a third person/reporting what happened to a third person.
Example: He said,"I want to watch a movie." (Direct)
He said that he wanted to watch a movie. (Indirect)
In the above example, when writing in reported/indirect form, the sentence changes according to its tense. Also, modifications regarding certain words like 'tomorrow' changes to 'the next day', 'yesterday' changes to 'the previous day', 'you' changes to 'I', 'will' changes to 'would' and many other words will have to be made.
He said,"Excuse me, sir." (Direct)
He begged the sir to excuse him. (Indirect)
Hope it helps :)
