1. Apply pressure with your fingers or thumbs along the edge of the wound Leave the foreign body in its place inside the wound. Do not remove the foreign body

2.Apply dressing along the edge of the wound and hold it in place with a tight bandage still leaving the foreign body inside.

3.If the wound is on the arm or the leg and the bleeding is profuse, lay the casualty down and raise the arm or leg above the level of the heart.

4. Call an ambulance and take the casualty to the hospital.​
