Rєqυírєd Aηswєr :

\implies{\boxed{\sf{\orange{Suresh\:asked\:mohit\:if\:he\:would\:help\:me.}}}}

Here, the direct speech of the sentence is given. We need to change it in indirect speech.

To do so, we used reported verb "asked" in place of "said". We can use if/whether for joining the phrases.Here we used 'if'. The reporting verb is in past tense therefore, the main verb also be converted to past tense.

Here are some basic rules for converting Direct to Indirect speech.

  • Reported verbs like said, told etc. are changed to reporting verbs like asked, enquire etc. depending upon tense of the sentence.
  • If the sentence is yes/no type question or question not having Wh- words.we will use If/Whether for joining the phrases.
  • We need to change the Question mark/Interrogation(?) to full stop(.)
