Answer
The Happy Prince - by Oscar Wilde
High above the city there stood a Happy Prince.
Who was praised every time he was seen.
One winter night came a little swallow
On the way to Egypt to meet his fellows.
As a sleep came over his mind
Dropped on his head a couple of tears that cried
From the Prince's eyes that saw only
The misery that spread through the city.
“Swallow,little Swallow”he cried and begged
Flew up to him the swallow under his legs
After a moment of internal hesitation
He agreed to help the Prince ,whose limbs could not function .
To spread the precious treasures on his body
To the poor and helpless ,most of everybody,
Whose gratitude ,due to poverty, remained unseen
But upset the prince by no means.
The pretty lies told, now came the ugly truth.
Leaden Happy Prince died , having said goodbye
To the swallow he loved, whose eyes had closed
And flew upside down to the sky of snow.
