3) Sonali said to him,“ I will be present tomorrow.” (Direct Speech)

  • Sonali told me that she would be present the next day. (Indirect speech)

Rules for changing Direct Speech into Indirect speech :-

  • The inverted commas are omitted in the Indirect speech.
  • The tense of the reporting verb should never be changed.
  • We use a linker before the Indirect speech.
  • The first letter within inverted commas will not remain capital after changing narration.
  • The pronouns should be changed according to the sense of the speech.
