1. When you change direct to indirect, the inverted commas are removed.
2. Here the sentence is assertive so said changed to told.
When it's question said changes to asked.
When a request (Please is used) said changes to request, order then said changes to ordered.
3. The indirect sentence changes to past tense. Like don't changed to - Didn't and know - Knew.
