c. The patient is being examined by the doctor.

DISCUSSION :

Passive sentence is a sentence where the subject is given the job by the subject. For example:

Active sentence :

I eat oranges

[I eat an orange]

Passive sentences:

I am eaten by oranges

[I am eaten by an orange]

We can see in the example above that subject I in the passive sentence receives work by an orange object. In the example sentence, the word am eaten is a passive verb.

The general form of passive verbs in English:

Be + Verb 3

Passive verb Present Perfect Tense: have / has been + Verb 3

Passive verbs Simple Future Tense: will be + Verb 3
