(1) The first prize was won by my friend.

EXPLANATION:

The given sentence is in active voice which is of the form the subject doing an  Action. This sentence should be changed into the passive voice of the form ‘an action is done on the object by the subject’. For example: ‘Kelly designed the dress’ can be changed to ‘The dress was designed by Kelly’. Here the object is ‘first prize’ , ‘won’ is a verb and ‘my friend’ is the subject. Hence the answer.

(2) You will be received (by someone) at the airport.

EXPLANATION:

In the above sentence the subject is not direct. We should take the subject as ‘someone’ and the verb is ‘receive’ and the object is you. The action should be done on the object in the passive voice. ‘at the airport’ should be added to the sentence at last. The active voice is written with a focus on the first person or the subject. The passive voice is written with a focus on the second person or the object.
