Agatha's mother cried out again. Mr. Adams demanded that everyone be quiet, while he raised a shaking hand. He called out to Agatha and requested her to listen to him. They could hear, but not clearly, the sound of the child's voice. In the darkness inside the safe, she was wild with fear. Her mother called out to her. She urged the people do do something or else her daughter would die of fear. Mr. Adams told her that there wasn't anyone nearer than Little Rock who could open that door. He  anxiously asked Spencer what they would do. He knew that Agatha couldn't survive long in there. There wasn't enough air and the fear would kill her.
