★ Was something eaten By you?

★-When the subject is the doer of the action, then the verb is said to be in active voice

★ :- When the subject is being acted upon by an action , then the verb is known to be in passive voice.

◆Some Rules for Changing AV TO PV (passive voice) AND PV TO AV. (Active Voice )

★While Changing AV TO PV the sub in the AV becomes the object in PV.

★While Changing AV TO PV third form of the main been is always used.

★'By' is used in PV Before the object.

★Subject + Verb + Obj

Example :- Ram Has Killed a snake.

★ Structure of PV

★ Object + verb + By +sub

is something eaten by you?

The primary auxiliary verbs do, does or did does not appear in the passive form.

The verbs has, have, had, will, shall, can, may etc., do not change their position at the beginning of the sentence when the active voice is changed to the passive voice.

Active voice: Have you invited them?

Passive voice: Have they been invitedby you?

Active voice: Will you help him?

Passive voice: Will he be helped by you?

The question words when, why, where, how or what does not change their position at the beginning of the sentence when the active voice is changed into the passive voice. Note that who changes to by whom andwhom into who.

What did he say? (Active Voice)

What was said by him? (Passive Voice)

Whom did you invite? (Active Voice)

Who was invited by you? (Passive Voice)
