In starting Public sector played a major role in Indian economy ...

All the controls over production and resources was done by public sector..

But presently ...

Public sector doesn't show its dominance over the economy...

Now producers are free for production there is no unnecessary restrictions over them..

So public sector withdrawal it's major role and acts as supporting sector and in the way of social welfare..
