Two decades ago, the world needed peace and disarmament. Today we need environmental solution and other sustainable developments. Different generations have their own different needs and wants. This may be in terms of possessions, ideologies, approaches, moral, etc.
Similarly, before the invention of computers and internet technology, people wanted and needed books for knowledge. However, today people want latest gadgets and access to internet interface for knowledge. This implies that with modernity and advancement, the needs and wants of people definitely change.
Things which people though were important earlier have become less significant today. Most people don't look for material possession anymore rather they seek for peace and happiness.
Changing times surely call for change in human needs and wants. The things we needed earlier have become unneeded today and things we need today will definitely become needless tomorrow. The world keeps on constantly changing.
