Answer:

Good morning everyone present; I am going to give a brief talk on ‘Changing the name of a city or a street does not improve its quality’.

Well, when you change a name, nothing changes in reality. For example, if there is a bad road, full of potholes and requiring urgent repair, will changing its name change the texture or surface of road? Say, if I name a bad road ‘Green Avenue’ or ‘Beach Boulevard’ it won’t become that road.

In order to make it a quality road, I will have to work on it. I will have to have it laid again; I will have to have trees planted on its either side. So, in future if anyone just changes the name of a road or street, he/she should be reminded of this fact. Thank you.

Names of cities and streets are the identity of our leaders and ancestors.

Explanation:

Changing the names of the city or a street does not going to make any major difference in the society. Names of the cities serve as an identity of our ancestors and leaders. Change in the names of the cities according to me is the assertion of the identity. It is someway closely associated with some people and it may vehemently affect the emotions of people who are closely associated with it.

Though, the change of names happens gradually over a period of time, it is no way going to make a remarkable in democracy as it has nothing to do with the names of the city or street or the country. Changing the names is no way improves the quality of the city or street as well. The change which has to be implemented is planting trees on the either sides of the street and saving them for our future.
