The protagonist is Jim Hawkins who gets hold of a treasure map from the sea-chest of a seaman who comes to stay at his parents’ inn. After Jim’s father dies, Jim takes the map to a squire fn whose house the local doctor is also present at the time. When all of them realize that the map is of a hidden treasure of a pirate, they get excited and soon get ready to go to that island- Jim goes as a cabin boy.
He is the one who gets to know about the treachery planned by Long John Silver and other pirates, and so, as soon as they reach the island, he escapes. He meets Ben Gunn who knew about the treasure. The squire, the doctor, Capt. Smollet and the rest are involved in a bitter battle in which many pirates die.
In the meantime, Jim goes stealthily to the ship and, after killing his attacker, takes the ship all alone to a safe place. He comes back to see that John Silver and his associates have driven away the squire and his friends. Jim is made to join them in their search for the treasure.
When all of them reach the treasure spot, they find that the treasure has been taken away. The squire and his friends manage to kill some more pirates, and taking Silver and Jim with them, go to Ben Gunn who.shares the treasure with all of them. All of them finally come back home, enriched with the experience.
