Step-by-step explanation:

Solution:

We know that the volume of a cube of side a cm

 \sf=a^ 3 cu .cm

Given that,

 \sf \: a ^ 3 = 8 = 2 ^ 3 .

Thus,

the side of the ube = 2 cm

No. of cubes of edge 2 cm required for making the length of the cuboid

 \sf = \frac{8}{2} = 4 cubes.

No. of cubes required for making the breadth of the cuboid

 \sf = \frac{4}{2} = 2 cubes

Hence,

the base of the cuboid is made up of

=4×2=8 cube.

No. of cubes required for the height of the cuboid

 \sf= \frac{6}{2} = 3 cubes

Hence,

to form the required cuboid, we will place 3 layers of 8 cubes.

So, total no. of cubes of side 2 cm required for making the cuboid = 3 × 8 = 24cubes .

Therefore,

24 cubes of volume 8 cu. cm. are required to build a cuboid of length 8 cm, breadth 4 cm, and height 6cm
