the number of moles in 100 g glucose are 0.55

given: 100g glucose

to find: number of moles

solution:

We are provided with 100 g of glucose

now we know that the chemical formula of glucose is C6H12O6

So find the molar mass of glucose

Molar mass of glucose = (C×6) + (H×12) + (O×6)

= 72+12+96

= 180 g/ mol

thus 1 mol of glucose contain 180 g

1 g of glucose contain = 1/180 mol

100g of glucose contain = 100/180 mole

= 0.55 moles

hence the number of moles in 100 g glucose are 0.55
