Chapter 4 - Air Extra Question 1. What is Air Pressure ? 2. Why don't we feel the air pressure? Define wind. Explain with example & 4. What is relation between temprature and air pressure? 3
Answers
Answer:
1. The air around you has weight, and it presses against everything it touches. That pressure is called atmospheric pressure, or air pressure. It is the force exerted on a surface by the air above it as gravity pulls it to Earth. ... Atmospheric pressure drops as altitude increases.
2. We do not feel the pressure of the atmosphere around us, because the pressure in our bodies is roughly the same as the atmospheric pressure outside. Therefore, both the forces acting on our bodies cancel out and we do not feel uncomfortable.
3. Wind is a breeze or the movement of air. An example of wind is the way the air moves and makes the tree branches rustle.
4.Pressure and temperature have an inverse relationship. In other words, increasing one, will cause the other to decrease. So if you increase the air temperature, the pressure is going to decrease. If you decrease the air temperature the pressure is going to increase.
