One night when the speaker i.e Malala was throwing trash into the large rubbish mountain in her community. She saw a young girl, about the same age as her, cowering behind the piles of trash. Malala was afraid to talk to the girl. When she explained what she saw to her father, her father told her that the girl from the dump was undoubtedly looked for trashed that she could sale to a shop as shopkeepers forced children to search for goods.
Thus, it affect Malala after she heard the father’s description of the child in the rubbish mountain that she begged her father to offer the girl a free place at his school.

The dirty face of the girl from the dump affect the speaker after she saw the girl where she throw the trash and afraid to talk with the girl. But after hearing a sad story from her father about the girl that she looked for trashed so that she could sale to a shop as shopkeepers forced children like her to search for goods.
Thus, It affect the speaker in the story Malala deeply so much about the child in the rubbish mountain that she begged to her father to offer the girl a free place at his school.
